Bio
Mr. Peikin, with more than 20 years of experience in public securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions, is Managing Director, Investment Banking at ThinkEquity, and advises growth companies navigating the capital markets. He has extensive experience that spans several industry sectors including biotechnology, blockchain, artificial intelligence, sustainable technologies, and consumer products.
Mr. Peikin was a partner and division chair within the corporate practice at the international law firm Brown Rudnick, and provided legal counsel to issuers, underwriters and investors in the structuring, documenting, and closing of securities transactions including public listings, mergers, and acquisitions. Thereafter, he launched and oversaw a corporate advisory practice that served emerging businesses by development of customized action plans designed to accelerate business growth.
Mr. Peikin founded a healthcare fund and as general partner, directed investment efforts to digital therapeutics that complement pharmaceutical approaches to medical conditions. His investment thesis included advancement in early detection and innovation of care for certain rare diseases and cancers.
Complementing his professional involvement with biotechnology and healthcare, Mr. Peikin formed The Benjamin Harry Peikin Foundation, which supports life-changing medical procedures and provides access to care for children who have trouble breathing or speaking. The Foundation funded a Chair in Otolaryngology at Mass Eye and Ear, a Harvard teaching hospital and part of the Mass General Brigham healthcare system.
Mr. Peikin holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 79 registrations. He is a graduate of the University of Miami, with a B.S. in Communications, and of Suffolk University Law School, where he earned his J.D.
